Amy Adams: Superman romance is so realistic
Amy Adams' onscreen romance with Henry Cavill felt 'real'.
The redheaded actress takes on the role of Lois Lane in the latest Superman adaptation Man of Steel.
Henry plays the superhero and Lois' love interest, and Amy enjoyed the way their romantic story played out in the film.
'You treat it with a lot of reverence and respect,' she smiled to MTV News.
'It felt very real. You're acting and stuff, but we were there, and you just transport yourself to the reality of it. I liked that Zack [Snyder, director] created a Lois who isn't swooning over him, but clearly affected by him, and moved by him. And clearly he gets her blood going, but she's much more modern in the sense that she's going to remain in control.'
The contemporary take on the classic comic has gone down well with audiences and hit the number one position at the US box office over the weekend.
Amy and Henry's chemistry is clear on screen, which the gorgeous actress said was a key element while filming.
'I got along so well with Henry so I just felt like we had a lot of fun, even from the beginning,' she revealed.
'We were tethered together, and you better learn how to have fun or else it's going to get really uncomfortable.'
As Superman/Clark Kent, Henry had put himself in the shoes of a man who leads a double life.
Lois becomes a rock for the superhero, who has never experienced such closeness before.
'He's spent his whole life with only two people knowing what he can do. Of course, they can only sympathise with him, they can't empathise,' Henry explained.
'It's one of those situations where he's forced into it, but it's actually a great relationship because he realises he can trust her — and he thought that never possible.'
