Things You Should Know About Baby Kimye's Arrival

One thing we know for sure about the newest edition to the Kardashian-West family — she's no slouch. Dropping the same week as daddy's newest album, baby Kimye (as we'll call her for now) arrived well in advance of her due date. But as with anything surrounding Kim and Kanye, there are a lot of rumors swirling about. Here are a few things to know about the blessed event.


It's a girl! Well, people knew that earlier this month, since Kim revealed her baby's gender during the season 8 premiere of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." The mom-to-be said, "I'm so excited we're having a girl. Like, who doesn't want a girl? They're the best. And I know that's what Kanye has always wanted. He wanted a little girl."

Kanye got to appreciate Father's Day for reals, as the baby arrived five weeks early. The July 11 due date would have put the Kardashian-West baby's birth awfully close to the expected delivery date of another highly anticipated offspring: the baby of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, aka Prince William and Kate.

Will Kim and Kanye name their daughter Donda after West's late beloved mother, an English professor at Clark Atlanta university and the English department chair at Chicago State University? She died November 2007, following cosmetic surgery. Kanye — her only child —named his clothing company after her.




Score another one for natural childbirth. There was no need for induction — which is a good thing, as recent studies have underscored the increased risk of cesarean sections and postpartum and neonatal complications when childbirth is induced, which has become increasingly common.

Celebrity baby photos these days fetch a pretty penny — and while it may seem coarse, it's a way to thwart the paparazzi from profiting off the blessed events. TMZ reported that the parents-to-be turned down a $3 million offerearlier this year, and Kim confirmed the photos will not be for sale. The market has definitely cooled off: People magazine reportedly paid $800,000 for Jessica Simpson's pictures of daughter Maxwell, but the issue sold ...
